Just A Phase

Just A Phase

by Mindy Sorensen

Have you ever hurt so much you couldn't stand it
You wish you could be happy for maybe just a little bit
You try to do everything to help ease the pain
Because if it lasts any longer it will drive you  insane
These are the troubles of a sad little girl.

Will someone please stop this madness
I don't want to live a life full of sadness
Pick me up off this cold hard ground
And show me the happiness in life that you have found

Have you ever felt so empty like there's a hole inside
It makes you want to scream, but you just run away and hide
You try to fill the hole but there's a leak and you go back to nothing
You wish with all your heart that you could just feel something
These are the troubles of a sad little girl.

Will someone please stop this madness
I don't want to live a life full of sadness
Pick me up off this cold hard ground
And show me the happiness in life that you have found

Have you ever felt so invisible like people see right through you
You wave your arms in the air but there's nothing you can do
It makes you feel like a wanderer going through life's maze
And you hope and pray that this is just a phase.

Will someone please stop this madness
I don't want to live a life full of sadness
Pick me up off this cold hard ground
And show me the happiness in life that you have found.

  2. Yes this was definitely written from experience. I wept and wanted to pick you up and tell you to hold on as your inner spirit will guide you to a new way of looking at life. Beautifully written.

  3. Life is a happy/sad thing, as a wise, scruffy old bear once told me, and every story--happy or sad--deserves to be told. It's part of being human; we must endure sadness so we may appreciate happiness.

Keep writing, Mindy; you have the gift, and gifts should be shared as often as possible!

    *hugs Mindy very bigly*

*..and Nancy, and the rest of the family too...*
